We are always in need of volunteers. Whatever your level of commitment and time available to help is, we can find a way to use your energy to help the organization.
Examples of volunteer opportunities:
Publicity chairman: currently this position is vacant and we need someone to serve. Responsibilities would include sending out monthly program reminders and contacting local media outlets to have our program listed. This job takes less than two hours a month.
Volunteer at the gift and book shop: We need people for reorganization, sales, and help with the book keeping, etc. Volunteer as little or as much as you want; very flexible on days of week and hours. You would be doing some of the more time consuming (counting inventory, etc) or sales.
Volunteer to assist a committee: We need help manning booths at PAIR day (membership), the Militaria show, or put together the yearly programs.
Volunteer to head up a committee: The society would like to apply for grants to assist the Frontier Army Museum. This could be developing the text boxes to make the cannons outside the museum, landscaping improvements to make the outside of the museum more pleasing, etc.
Other opportunities: From time to time, the Society needs volunteers with particular skills for short term projects. Some examples have been digitizing the tour of post book for republishing, writing lesson plan sheets for packets sent to elementary schools.
