"A Peek Behind the Walls of the USDB"

Mr Peter Grande

Peter Grande is currently the USDB Chief of Staff. He first came to the USDB in August 1974 as an enlisted correctional specialist and spent most of his Army career behind bars. He commanded the Ft. Knox Regional Correctional Facility and the Mannheim Confinement Facility and recently retired as the USDB Deputy Commandant.

"After the Frontier: U.S. Cavalry, 1891-1920"

Dr. Alex Bielakowski

Dr. Bielakowski is a member of the Department of Military History at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and an expert on the U.S. cavalry in the post-frontier period.  He will be available to sign copies of his Osprey series book, U.S. Cavalry, 1891-1920, after the presentation.
Doug Scott (on the right) and VP Mark Gerges at the September presentation. The meeting was well attended, with over 100 people crowding into the Frontier Army Museum to hear Prof Scott.  Next time he comes we'll have a larger venue.

"The Little Bighorn Massacre

Dr. Doug Scott

Doug Scott was a National Park Service archeologist that conducted the survey of the Little Bighorn battlefield after a prairie fire in the 1980s.  His discoveries changed the interpretation of the battlefield, and lead to the discovery of an unburied U.S. soldier still on the battlefield.

Edward "Bud" Bowie is a historian with the Department of Military History, Command and General Staff College and   a frequent contributor to the Fort Leavenworth Historical Society and other historical events in the Leavenworth area.
